Crash on Route 44 kills married couple

SEEKONK, MA – A Pawtucket couple was been killed following an accident on Route 44 last Tuesday, NBCBoston reports.

The crash occurred at 6 p.m. when a driver in a Corvette attempted to cross Route 44 and was struck by a Jeep.

The Jeep reportedly attempted to evade the crash but was unable to do so. The driver has not been indentified at this time and no criminal charges have been filed.

The driver of the Corvette was identified as 70-year-old Robert Langevin of Pawtucket. His passenger was 70-year-old Winifred Langevin, his wife.

Responders declared Winifred died in the crash. Robert was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead as well.

Motorcyclist killed in 3-vehicle crash in Dighton

DIGHTON, MA – A motorcyclist was killed and another person was hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash in Dighton last Friday.

According to WFXT, the collision involved two motorcycles and a passenger vehicle and took place near the intersection of Main Street and Elm St at about 8 p.m.

One of the motorcyclists was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual in the passenger vehicle was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are unclear at this time.

2 hospitalized after two-vehicle rollover crash in Franklin

FRANKLIN, MA – Two drivers suffered injuries following a head-on collision in Franklin Monday morning, reports the Milford Daily News.

The crash occurred just before 8 a.m. in the 800 block of Washington Street near the intersection with South Street.

Police say a westbound sedan crossed the center line for unknown reasons and crashed into a pickup truck, causing the pickup tor rollover.

According to CBS 4, the collision occurred along just after 7 p.m.

Brockton man faces OUI charges after multi-vehicle crash involving police car

MILTON, MA – A drunk driver was arrested after causing a multi-vehicle crash in Milton early Monday morning, reports WHDH.

The crash occurred at about 12:30 a.m. when 25-year-old Julien Fernandes failed to stop at a red light along the Blue Hills Parkway near Blue Hill Terrace Street. Fernandes’s vehicle then collided with a Hampden County Sheriff’s Office cruiser and a nearby Acura.

At least one person suffered minor injuries in the wreck. However, their identity is unclear at this time.

 

North Attleborough firefighter charged with OUI after crash seriously injures woman

MIDDLEBOROUGH, MA – A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after a collision with a drunk driver in Middleborough last Saturday.

According to Boston 25 News, the crash happened on April 9th around 12:45 a.m.

North Attleborough firefighter, James O’Connor, was driving a Jeep Wrangler on Route 44 near the rotary to Bedford Street/Grove Street. He crashed into the side of a Mercury Mariner which then overturned.

A 57-year-old Raynham woman suffered major injuries in the crash. A 58-year-old male occupant had minor injuries.

O’Connor was questioned by police and failed a sobriety test. After being treated at Tobey Hospital for hand lacerations, he was booked at the Middleborough Police Department.

He was charged Monday with OUI of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failing to yield at an intersection.

Brockton firefighter killed after West Bridgewater motorcycle crash

WEST BRIDGEWATER, MA – A Massachusetts firefighter and Marine veteran was killed after a motorcycle crash in West Bridgewater on Monday night.

According to WCVB, the fatal crash happened on South Main Street.

Matthew Flaherty was pronounced dead following the motorcycle crash. He had worked for the city’s fire department for 10 years and was a Marine in Afghanistan.

3 injured, including officer, after driver slams into Brockton police SUV

BROCKTON, MA – Three people suffered injuries after a two-vehicle collision in Brockton Monday night.

According to NECN, a 57-year-old man driving a pickup truck ran a red light at the intersection of Montello Street and Lawrence Street around 8:30 p.m. He crashed into a patrol officer’s SUV, which had the lights and sirens on at the time.

The officer was taken to Brockton Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver in the pickup and a 66-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries and were both taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Police say the driver will be cited for failure to stop. An investigation is ongoing.

Injuries reported after multi-vehicle collsion involving tractor-trailer on I-495

HOPKINTON, MA – A multi-vehicle collision resulted in injuries on I-495 Friday morning.

A tractor-trailer and box truck were involved in the crash, as well as at least one other vehicle. The accident happened around 8 a.m. on I-495 southbound at the Massachusetts Turnpike reports Boston 25 News.

1 person trapped in vehicle, injured after rollover crash

REHOBOTH, MA – One person suffered injuries following a rollover crash in Rehoboth Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Fall River Reporter, the crash happened near 147 Bay State Road around 2 p.m.

Emergency crews found a vehicle on its side with the driver still in their seat. They broke the windshield to extricate the driver and transported them to an area hospital.
