Car drives into Seekonk River hospitalizing one passenger

PROVIDENCE, RI – A woman was hospitalized after she escaped from a car that had been driven into the Seekonk River on Saturday, reports ABC 6.

The crash occurred close to 6 a.m. on the Gano Street Boat Launch where a male driver had driven into the water.

A female passenger escaped the vehicle and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. The severity of her injuries is unknown at this time.

The driver was unharmed.

The cause of the accident is undetermined. This accident is still under investigation.
