Pedestrian struck, seriously injured by SUV in Falmouth

FALMOUTH, MA – A man suffered serious injuries after being struck by a driver in an SUV in Falmouth Saturday evening.

According to the Cape Cod Times, 60-year-old Jeffrey Bockweg, of Stow was crossing Teaticket Highway near Figuerido Way toward Cumberland Farms.

Richard Schaffer, 67, of Falmouth was driving an SUV southbound when he struck the pedestrian in the roadway.

Emergency crews began performing life-performing measures before a medical helicopter transported Bockweg to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Shaffer remained on the scene and cooperated with officers.

The incident remains under investigation.
