Child Injured in Hit-and-Run While Riding Bike in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, MA – A child was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle on Dean Street Monday afternoon.

The New Bedford Guide reports the accident occurred close to 1:30 in the afternoon when an SUV struck a child riding a bicycle.

The child was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital to be treated. The severity of the injuries was not publicly disclosed.

New Bedford Police allege that the driver did not have a proper driver’s license.
