Pedestrian injured in collision at Five Corners in Vineyard Haven

VINEYARD HAVEN, MA – A woman was struck and injured by a pickup truck as she exited a Cumberland Farms on Martha’s Vineyard on Monday night, MV Times reports.

The incident happened in the Five Points area yesterday evening. Police say that the pickup’s 22-year-old driver was distracted, which caused him to hit the victim, described only as a woman in her late 50s.

Tisbury EMS transported her to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver, who remained at the scene and cooperated with police, was cited for impeded operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
