Man facing charges after setting Webster restaurant on fire

WEBSTER, MA – A man is facing charges following an investigation into a restaurant fire in Webster earlier this month.

According to WCVB, Joel Batista-Viera started a fire at the Wind Tiki Chinese restaurant at 154 Thompson Road on March 18. The building was destroyed following the blaze.

Batista-Viera faces several charges including breaking and entering and arson.

No injuries have been reported.

Fire crews respond to burning apartment building in Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI – Emergency crews were on the scene of a building fire near downtown Providence Tuesday morning.

According to WJAR, the fire broke out at 100 Broad Street near Franklin Street.

PROVIDENCE, RI – One person was hurt after a crash on I-95 westbound Tuesday morning reports WLNE.

The collision happened between two cars around 5 a.m. while construction was being conducted on the interstate.

One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries following the crash.

2 vehicles engulfed in flames after multi-vehicle collision

EAST GREENWICH, RI – A multi-vehicle crash caused a fiery scene on Route 2 Tuesday afternoon.

According to ABC6, two pickup trucks collided head-on on South County Trail. One of the drivers was towing a trailer when they attempted a wide left turn before crashing with the oncoming truck.

The impact caused a vehicle to catch fire which quickly spread to the other, engulfing both.

Thankfully, only minor injuries were reported in the crash. The victims’ identities have not been released.

Police are investigating the incident.
