PROVIDENCE, RI – Emergency crews were called to the scene of a rollover collision in the Mount Pleasant area on Saturday night.

According to WJAR, the crash took place near the intersection of Lynch Street and Atwells Avenue at about 8:15 p.m.

The cause of the crash is not mentioned in the report. However, photos from the scene show two vehicles involved with one rolled onto its side.

Driver hospitalized after single-vehicle crash in North Kingstown

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI – One person was taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash in the North Kingstown area last night.

According to WPRI, the accident happened near the intersection of Post Road and Hopedale Drive at about 8:15 p.m.

Investigators say the driver lost control of their SUV for unknown reasons, causing it to swerve off the roadway and into the woods nearby.

The driver was sent to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Rhode Island Department of Transportation reported a collision on eastbound I-195 at the exit for US 44 E to Taunton this afternoon.

The collision happened at about 4:45 p.m. and likely affected rush hour commuters. It was eventually cleared about 45 minutes later.

The crash took place when a vehilce driving on Twin River Road struck multiple cars near Ivy Place and crashed into the woods nearby.

76-year-old woman fatally struck by hit-and-run driver in Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI – An elderly woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident in southwest Providence on Saturday evening.

According to WPRI, the woman was attempting to cross Union Avenue near the Route 10 off ramp when she was hit. The driver made a quick U-turn following the crash and fled the scene.

The victim, who has since been identified as Violet Barracks, 76, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver involved returned three hours after the crash and identified himself. He has since been identified as Domingo Castro.
