Woman seriously injured after crashing into Lakeville church

LAKEVILLE, MA – A woman suffered serious injuries after crashing into a church in Lakeville early Saturday morning.

According to the Fall River Reporter, the unidentified female driver crashed into the Lakeville Church of the Nazarene on Main Street.

She was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive. She was the only occupant of the vehicle and no other injuries have been reported.

The cause of the collision was not immediately clear.

Former Fall River man killed in DUI pedestrian crash, arrest made

BOSTON, MA – A man was killed after he was hit by a drunk driver while crossing a downtown Boston street on Monday.

According to the Fall River Reporter, Abana Cabrera, 36, was driving a Hyundai Elantra when she struck the pedestrian near 75 Kneeland Street.

The victim was identified as Richard Mullins, of Attleboro, formerly a Fall River resident. He was taken to Tufts Medical Center where he later died.

Cabrera was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol causing serious bodily injury, OUI alcohol as a second offense, and failure to stop or yield.

Man suffers minor burns after boat catches fire in Fall River

FALL RIVER, MA – A man was injured after a 22-foot boat erupted in flames at Davol Street and Brownell Street on Tuesday.

According to WPRI, the man was preparing to test drive a boat to potentially purchase at the Bicentennial Park boat ramp. Once he started the boat, the motor began smoking before catching fire and spreading.

The man suffered burn injuries to his hand and arm and is expected to be ok. The incident remains under investigation.

Pedestrian fatally struck by tractor-trailer on I-95

HOPKINTON, RI – A person was struck and killed by a driver in a tractor-trailer on Route 95 early Saturday morning.

The fatal crash happened around 2 a.m. on I-95 southbound at Exit 2 in Hopkinton according to the Fall River Reporter.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bicyclist struck by driver, seriously injured in Lakeville

LAKEVILLE, MA – A man was seriously injured after being struck on his bike in Lakeville Friday afternoon.

First responders were called to the scene at 66 County Street around 3:40 p.m. according to the Fall River Reporter.

They found the victim in the roadway and began performing life support treatment. He was rushed to the trauma center at Rhode Island Hospital.

WESTPORT, MA – A driver sustained injuries in a rollover crash on the Route 195 ramp over the weekend.

Emergency crews responded to the rollover on the Route 88 northbound exit ramp to Route 195, according to the Fall River Reporter. The driver was pinned in their vehicle and had to be extricated using the Jaws of Life.

FALL RIVER, MA – Two people suffered injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Fall River Saturday morning.

According to the Fall River Reporter, two drivers collided at Plymouth Avenue and Peckham Street just after midnight.

Both drivers, and only occupants, were injured in the crash. One was taken to Rhode Island Hospital while the other was sent to Charlton Memorial Hospital.

Fall River pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle

FALL RIVER, MA – A Fall River woman died after she was struck by a vehicle while in Florida on Sunday morning.

The 49-year-old victim was struck while crossing Front Beach Road near Joan Avenue in Panama City Beach, according to the Fall River Reporter.

A 42-year-old man driving an SUV fatally struck the woman.

She was transported to Ascension Sacred Heart/Bay Medical Center where she died of her injuries.

The woman’s identity has not yet been released.

Man driving with 3 children crashes into car, arrested for DUI

TIVERTON, RI – A man was arrested after a crash injured one person in Tiverton last week.

According to the Fall River Reporter, the man was driving southbound on Stafford Road at Kitchener Street when he crashed into a Toyota sedan.

He had three children occupants ages 16, 15, and 4 in his vehicle at the time of the crash. As he was speaking with officers, they detected alcohol on his breath. The man failed field sobriety tests and took a breathalyzer that revealed a .291 blood-alcohol content, four times above the legal limit.

The driver in the Toyota was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital with injuries.

No one else was hurt in the crash.

The man was arrested and charged with DUI with a child under 13 as a passenger and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
